Privacy
One notice per app. The short version: none of them has accounts, analytics, advertising or telemetry.
Not sure which applies? All three apps come from COE LABS / COE Software — the Microsoft Store listing for the app you have installed names the publisher.
Overview
This page carries the privacy notice for each COE Software application, because the Microsoft Store listing for each app needs its own privacy policy URL.
The policy that applies to you is the one for the app you have installed:
- AuralEQ — collects nothing at all.
- PDF Pilot — collects nothing at all. Your documents are processed on your own PC.
- MetaScrubber — collects nothing at all, and makes no network requests of any kind.
What this website itself does is covered at the end of the legal page: no cookies, no analytics, no third-party requests.
AuralEQ
Effective 2 October 2026 · Developer: COE LABS / COE Software
AuralEQ collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no telemetry, and no network calls except the one described below.
Your audio stays on your device
File playback and the live output meter are processed locally in memory. Equalizer settings, themes and presets are stored on your own PC and are never transmitted anywhere.
Optional Equalizer APO download — installer edition only
If you choose system-wide EQ in the installer edition and Equalizer APO is not already installed, the app offers to download its installer from SourceForge. That download is subject to SourceForge's own terms and privacy policy. The Microsoft Store edition does not include system-wide EQ and makes no such download.
No third-party sharing
Because nothing is collected, nothing is shared, sold, or sent anywhere.
PDF Pilot
Effective 2 October 2026 · Developer: COE LABS / COE Software (coesoftware.com)
PDF Pilot is an offline-first desktop PDF viewer, editor, annotator, and document converter for Windows. Privacy is foundational to how it is built: your personal data, your documents, and your usage are not collected, transmitted, stored, or sold.
Documents and local files
- All PDFs, images, signatures, annotations and exported files
(
.docx,.xlsx,.pptx,.html,.md,.txt) are processed strictly on your local computer. - PDF Pilot never uploads your documents to COE Software servers or to any third-party cloud storage.
- Automatic crash-recovery backups and recent-file thumbnails are
stored only in your local Windows user profile
(
%LOCALAPPDATA%\PDFPilot), and are removed when you save, close, or clear your history.
Optional Pilot AI features
PDF Pilot includes an optional assistant, Pilot AI, with two modes. Both are off unless you turn them on.
- Built-in offline AI / local models (default).
When you use the built-in offline AI, or a local server such as
Ollama or LM Studio on
127.0.0.1, all text processing happens on your computer. If you choose to download the built-in AI engine and model weights, the app fetches those files directly from official open-source model repositories (GitHub / Hugging Face) into your local app-data folder. - Bring-your-own-key cloud AI (optional). If you deliberately configure a third-party cloud provider such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini or OpenRouter and enter your own API key, PDF Pilot asks for your confirmation once per provider, and sends only the relevant extracted page text and your prompt from your computer to that provider's API endpoint. Your API key is stored locally on your machine and is never shared with COE Software.
Telemetry and diagnostics
PDF Pilot contains no telemetry, no tracking pixels, no advertising SDKs, and no analytics. Error logs and the Copy diagnostics feature stay on your computer unless you choose to copy them and send them to us when asking for support. That feature contains version information only.
MetaScrubber
Effective 2 October 2026 · Developer: Coe Software / COE LABS
MetaScrubber collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere. It is a local desktop program: it does not connect to the internet, does not contain telemetry or analytics, and does not send any information about you, your files or your usage to the developer or to any third party.
What the app reads
MetaScrubber reads only the files and folders you explicitly add to it, and it reads them on your own computer. It reads the metadata those files already contain in order to show you what is there and to remove it. It does not index, copy or transmit file contents.
What the app writes
When you press Scrub & save, MetaScrubber writes the cleaned files to the location you selected: alongside the original, into a folder you chose, or over the original when you asked it to overwrite in place. Those files stay on your computer. Nothing is uploaded.
What the app stores
MetaScrubber keeps no database, no history and no cache of your
files. The only files it creates are the cleaned copies you asked
for, plus an optional .bak copy when you tick that
option. Its settings live only in the running window and are gone
when you close it.
Network access
The app makes no network requests of any kind — there is no update check, no licence check, no crash reporting and no cloud processing. You can verify this by running it with your network disconnected; every feature works.
Third parties
No third-party services, SDKs, advertising networks or analytics providers are used. Metadata parsing and rewriting is implemented in the app itself; no external tools are called.
Data removal requests
Because no personal data is collected or held, there is nothing to request, export or delete. If you have a question about this notice, contact the developer at [email protected]. The app itself never uses the network; opening this website is a click you make in your own browser.
Contact
Questions about either notice, or about anything you have sent us: [email protected]. Anything you send by email is kept only so we can help you, and you can ask for it to be deleted at any time.
